Inspired in discovering a traditional art of a 19th Century braiding technique, Anke works with fine silk threads, nylon and cotton, twisting them together adding other filaments such as pearls. She uses simple flat materials that are wound over each other; she provides an unusual aesthetic making it hard to imagine what her pieces are made from.
